ACADEMY BALLET JAZZ
jazz dancers, advice?
i take ballet (level 5) and next year, my academy requires that i take a jazz class every saturday
is jazz hard? how is it diff. from ballet, and what are some things i might need to know?
i’ve been taking ballet for a year, and i am on pointe. Ive also taken gymnastics (up to level 5) and some easy hip-hop classes, and that is all of my dance experience.

o yeah, and also, the things i need work on specifically are turns and épamal –i dont think i spelled that right– (head movement and facial expressions) so, it sounds like it might help with that!
u will be great because ballet is the first step to jazz and u must be a good and quick learner because if u are already on pointe that is good. all it really is is a fast ballet. it is a step up from lyrical. and it is between ballet and hip hop. if u have a tiny bit of background then u will be good. dont worry about expressions all u ave to do in jazz is give your best smile and look like you are having a good time. dont worry about it i take many kinds of dance and jazz is my favorite. it is also best to start lower so you can be better then struggle in a hard class. hope it helps!!
