American Ballet Theatre NY Summer Intensive?
Hi, again. As you know, I am a fourteen year old ballet dancer. I was wondering … Ok, so today I auditioned for the American Ballet Theatre Summer Intensive in New York City. I am getting very nervous about getting the notification of my acceptance or reject, and I was just wondering if anyone could help me?
First off, is ABT NY a body type school ? I was just wondering, because I am not fat, but I do not have the SAB body type.
Second, is ABT a really good learning environment ? Is everything well set up ? What are reviews ? Did some people like it ? Did you learn a lot ?
And third, when will I possibly be notified of my results ? A week ? Two weeks ? I am curious about when I will be receiving my notification.
Please give long, detailed responses about the American Ballet Theatre NY Summer Intensive, as I am getting excited because I want to know details ! Thank you so much in advance !!
ABT NY does care about body type, but not as much as SAB. The other ABT SIs don’t care as much as NYC. When you auditioned for the ABT summer Intensive, you were auditioning for all of them if you checked the boxes. That would be ABT Alabama, Texas, Detroit, NY and CA for the August program. If you only checked the box for the NYC SI I must tell you it is very elite and hard to get into. The other programs are in varying degrees of difficulty to get into with Alabama being the easiest.
My daughter did the NYC SI many years ago. I think she heard in under 2 weeks but I am not sure if I remember it correctly.
