BALANCHINE BALLET METHOD
how do the ballet styles differ and how are they similar?

i am doing a project on ballet and part of it is about the 3 main styles which is classical, contemporary or modern, and neoclassical. i just need a quick explanation on how the physical appearance of if is different and similar.

and if u have time i need a same comparison for Balanchine, cecchetti, and vaganova methods

Okay, here goes!
Classical (Compared to Contemporary): Classical appears to be lighter, and more traditional (you would expect to see a form of tutu be it long or short), whereas Contemporary is more modern, looks easier to do (believe me, it’s not!) and appears to have heavier movements.

Classical and Contemporary similarities: They work the sames muscles, you can see the basics to ballet in Contemporary (pointed feet, feet positions etc), and they have the same technical working.

Cecchetti: This may not help, but Cecchetti is a really old form of ballet (Before RAD) and it is known for continuing exercises, but making them more advanced as level of student advances. It is also a very traditional way of dance, because hardly any of the traditional exercises have been changed.

By the way: Ballet came before Contemporary!
