Guy wearing rolldown dance pants? Dancer-girls please answer =)?
I recently started taking jazz, modern-ballet dance classes and I’m the only guy around. The girls all wear the standard, black, Bloch dance-pants that are form-fitting from the waist to the knees before flaring out a bit at from the knee to the ankles.
I’m wondering if it’s acceptable that I wear the same kind of pants. I have the guy-version of Bloch dancepants, they’re loose and pretty much spandex tracky dacks that look a bit silly. Im tall and leant, so for the pants to fit around my waist, they don’t hang all the way down to my ankles and it looks like off. I reckon if i get one of the Bloch rolldown tights, they’ll hang properly around the ankles without being really tight around my butt etc since I’m lean.
But I’m not sure about the etiquette, I don’t want to look effeminate.
The most important thing is that you are comfortable, so wear them!
There isn’t really an etiquette especially in jazz you should just wear whatever you feel is comfy and practical, and what you can dance you best in!
