BALLET NORTHWEST

Miami city ballet or pacific northwest ballet for summer?
So i got into MCB and PNB for the summer. Im 14 years old and level 7 in miami and level 5 for pnb. If you have been to these programs what are the pros and cons? Also what are the age ranges for the levels and how many classes/ hours a day?
thanks in advnace
First congratulations. They are both great programs. You would not go wrong choosing either one. Age matters very little and you are put into a level based on ability although the lower levels trend toward a younger dancer based on level of technique developed. The programs if they haven’t changed much over the past few years, would be very similar time wise. You will have 3 or 4 classes a day depending on your level and the day of the week. You start off each day with a ballet class. You may be doing partnering or just variations class or both after that first ballet class, but you will get some form of character dance and modern at some point during the week as well. Honestly I don’t remember how the level numbers run for those programs and what a level 5 or 7 is. It was some time ago my daughter attended PNB and her friend went to Miami.
Prestige wise PNB has more of an edge. It is rated among the top five SIs in the US. Miami has a great reputation as well.
You must have a good deal of potential to have gotten into those programs. Congratulations again.
Perhaps a visit to the ballet talk website might help with a more current prospective on their programs in case things have changed
