BALLET RECITAL MUSIC
What are some good songs for a contemporary ballet piece?

I’m choreographing a contemporary ballet (or maybe modern) piece for my recital this year. It’ll probably be a solo but I’m not sure yet. I’d like it to be. But I need some good song choices. Probably some modern classical music, if there is singing that’s fine, but not a lot and I’d like something kind of calm or eerie or something. Something that gives me a lot of emotion to work with. I pour my heart out into dances so emotion is a top priority. Thanks for the suggestions in advance!

If it helps, I may do it on pointe, and may do it with no shoes. Haven’t decided yet. This is my 13th year of dance and I’m 15. I do ballet/pointe, tap, jazz, modern, lyrical, and contemporary.

I think that “Lacrymosa” by Evanescence would be nice http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oxFvdunfv-4

“The beginning” from Dracula http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e817qtDsIo4&feature=PlayList&p=1DAFEFE05B809AD6&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=22

top gun theme http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zCTJmXrgsFg

“The unicorn theme” from Legend http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sfREXJklz-U&feature=PlayList&p=453A5FCE0D91ECF4&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=39
