PLEASE HELP BALLERINAS! SUMMER INTENSIVES..?
I was accepted into SAB and Miami City Ballet. Now, under normal circumstances i would go to SAB because it’s been my dream to go there. But MCB offered me a full scholarship and put me in the second highest level (Advanced 2) I’m 14 now, going to be 15 then. My parents say i can pick where i want to go but i feel like declining MCB scholarship would be “burning bridges” and I head that going to SAB when you are older is better anyway (plus MCB would be a lot lighter on the wallet) . This is my first summer going away. PLEASE HELP!
I was in a similar situation this year. I got a scholarship to arb but got accepted into harid conservatory and joffrey new york performance program. if i were in your situation i would go to MCB. first of all, it’s never good to go to new york for your first summer intensive where there isn’t supervised housing. secondly you got a FULL SCHOLARSHIP to MCB so obviously they want you there. Thirdly, i’ve heard that you don’t dance all day at SAB and that many dancers pay extra money to take classes at other studios in New York. There’s also another chance that you will get into SAB the next year or year after if you really have your heart set on it. That’s what i suggest, if this helps any
