What to wear to Utah Ballet West performance?
I’m going to The Nutcracker by Ballet West at the Capitol Theatre in Salt Lake City. What is the traditional attire to wear for this for both men and women?
It kind of matters if you are going in the day or evening.
A daytime ballet is not as formal as an evening ballet. Regardless of the time of day, you should dress up more than you would to go shopping. At some locations, nice jeans are acceptable during the day. If you wear nice jeans, also wear a blouse with accessories and dressier shoes. Men, wear a button-up shirt with a blazer if you are wearing jeans. Jeans should not be worn to a ballet at night. A cocktail dress for women is appropriate at night. Men can wear a blazer with dress pants or suit to a nighttime ballet.
