How can I “get my foot in the door” in the musical theatre business?
I’ve put a lot of thought into it, and I would like to at least try to get into this business. I have danced ballet for about ten years, I have a decent voice and have been part of a choir for three years. I have also had some basic acting classes. I’m not exactly looking for a lead role or anything like that (even though that would probably be fun!) but more like an extra or a choir/corps dancer role. I’m moving to New Jersey in a few months, and it’s exciting because I’ll only be about 50 miles from Manhattan. I am prepared to work hard and commit to my role, I just kind of need to know how to mobilize my ambition 
One way you could do it is by putting yourself on videos and posting them on like youtube.com. Also if you have time and money go to a college for it. This will definetely show yourself if your made out for it and want to do this for the rest of your life. Many people that watch these performances will realize that some of the characters could be assets for their own musicals. Or you could audition for Disney. Not so much the musical part but disney does host many musicals that are performed live for crowds.
