Self-teach ballet/lyrical dance? (10 points first GOOD answer)?
So, I wanna teach myself ballet or lyrical.. which would you suggest?
I know you will tell me it’s dangerous but I’ll post my videos to youtube and ppl can correct me. I won’t be able to join a school until I go to college which is after 3 years, and I can’t wait for that long. [my city has no studios].. I’m 15 and I need to learn badly..
Mom doesn’t let me buy stuff online so can you just tell me where I can find good videos? (youtube isn’t that helpful unless you show me real good videos) Also, I won’t be able to have my own credit card unless I’m 16.. so it’d be hard to order books/DVDs online.. are there any good online books? Also, suggest good DVDs/books that I’d be able to get when I’m 16.. And please, send me links to good website that don’t steal your credit card numbers.. in other words, safe.. Thanks! I need that asap! Please answer!

If I’d had access to videos then, wow, that would have been great!
You will certainly have a lot of hard work ahead of you, but hey, why not give it a shot. It’s not necessarily dangerous to teach yourself either, so long as you are sensible.
How about borrowing or buying DVDs or videos, even get them out of your library if they have them. Don’t overlook books too, there are plenty of teach-yourself ballet books out there – I know, I’ve used them! “Ballet Steps” by Antony Dufort is one I would recommend. See what your library has.
Google ballet, and just spend ages surfing through as much online as you can.
Remember, you can always ask questions on here about ballet steps, etc, – we are here to help out fellow dancers!
